A. INSTALLING THE FILES:
=====================

1.  Unzip the downloaded file.

2. Create a Directory named 'drmplot' (or any name you desire).

3. Copy the unzipped files DRMLogPlot.exe and the drmtransmittersites.dat to this directory.
3.1 Run the DRM Log-Plotter once and close it without doing anything else. Various directories will be generated.
3.2 Put the drmhelp.html in the "help" directory.

4. Start the programme DRM-Log Plotter

5. Perhaps you would like to add a profile for your receiver. Go to the Profiles and do so. Choose your Nickname.

6. Load the HEADERS (which is in the folder where you have DreamLog.txt)

7. Then load the LogLong (which is the DreamLogLong.csv probably in the same folder as where you have DreamLog.txt)

8. Click in SELECT A LOG and something should appear on the screen.

9. Take the information in the ABOUT page with a pinch of salt - ;-))

10. Make a sub-directory \help in the same directory as the DRM-Log Plotter.
    Copy the help.html and the folder "images" to this directory.
    If you do so, you will have access to the Local Help (instead of the on-line Help if you are not on-line)

11. Get the FreeImage.dll if you want to make PNG screen shots. Without it you can only
    generate a BMP file (which will be over-written by the next screenshot).

There might still be some bugs in the programme.
If you find any, please report them by e-mail to the address below.

If you have changed the profiles or selected one, it will appear if you exit PROFILES and then click on the field. If you exit the application, the error message should have been solved with a workaround from Rev.4.

After the installation, an error message could appear: "COMDLG32.OCX (or sometimes MSCOMCTL.OCX) is missing or not properly registered". Please read the notes "KNOWN PROBLEMS IN WINDOWS" below.

=================================================================================================================
A.A. How to install the DRM Log-Plotter under Win 8.1 (August 2015) or under Win 10.0 (Build 10240, October 2015)
=================================================================================================================

1. Copy DRM-Log Plotter to DRMPlot.
1.1 Run the DRM Log-Plotter once and close it without doing anything else. Various directories will be generated.
1.2.	Copy the drmtransmittersites.txt to the same directory.
1.3.	Install FreeImage.dll (find it on the DRM Plotter download page). Move the file to the
	DRMPlot folder. There is no need to register this dll.

2.	Copy comdlg32.ocx to DRMPlot. You must register this file before you can use it otherwise you will
	get the "Error 339: comdlg32.ocx is missing or invalid".
2.1.	Right-click on START and click Command Prompt (Admin). You must register the file using Admin rights.
2.1.1. Click YES to go on after the pop-up message "Do you want to allow..."
2.2.2. Type 'C:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe DRMPlot\COMDLG32.OCX' (without the quotation marks)
        and press ENTER. DO NOT CLOSE the Command Prompt window.
2.2.3. If everything is OK a message appears saying the registration was successful.

3.	Copy mscomctl.ocx to DRMPlot. You need to register this file too, otherwise you will
	get the "Error 339: mscomctl.ocx is missing or invalid".
3.1. In the Command Prompt, type 'C:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe DRMPlot\COMDLG32.OCX'
        (without the quotation marks) and press ENTER.
3.1.2. If everything is OK a message appears saying the registration was successful.

4. Now is the time to start the DRM Log-Plotter for the first time.

5.	Click Set-Up, click Change nickname, and enter your Nickname, click OK. A message box appears. Click OK.
5.1.	Write a Profile to describe your receiver etc. and click Add Profile. Double-click on the Profile.

6.	Add your Location: In Set-Up click "Change" in "Receiver Coordinates".
6.1.	Write your city name in "Add Location" and add the Latitude and Longitude and click "Add".
6.1.1.	Click on the location name in the list and click "Select". Close the Location window.

7. Run DRMPlot if it is not already running. The application works.

8. Perform an Update to get the necessary files.
8.1. Select a file from "Select Main Log". The log appears in the plot window.

9. Press "Screenshot". An error message will pop up if the Nickname has not been set.
9.1.	An error message will also pop up if the FreeImage.dll is missing, but the screenshot will be saved as a BMP picture
	which you could convert in Paint or a similar application.
	If the FreeImage is in the DRM-Plotter's directory the BMP file is automatically removed from the file list when the
	PNG file is created.

B. KNOWN PROBLEMS AFTER AN INSTALLATION

B.1 KNOWN PROBLEMS IN WINDOWS XP:
=============================
None so far (16th Sep. 2007)
When you execute the DRM-Log Plotter you get a runtime error 339. The message may read "COMDLG32.OCX (or MSCOMCTL.OCX.)
is missing or not properly registered". The file should be placed in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM or C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32.
Reported by Andreas with thanks. (17th Sep. 2007)
Please search for this dll in Internet.

Solution: Once you have copied the file, click START--> RUN and type "REGSVR32 MSCOMCTL.OCX" (WITHOUT quotes) in the box.

B.2 KNOWN PROBLEMS IN WINDOWS VISTA BASIC:
======================================
When you execute the DRM-Log Plotter you get a runtime error 339. The message may read "COMDLG32.OCX is missing or not properly registered". Reported by IBIS (Consultants).

A tested solution for Windows Vista Basic:
==========================================
Windows Vista Basic looked for the file COMDLG32.OCX. If it is missing, copy COMDLG32.OCX to the same directory as the DRM-Log Plotter (DRMPlot\COMDLG32.OCX). Now try to start the programme. If this did not solve the problem, do the following:

1. Copy COMDLG32.OCX to DRMPlot\ (if not done already).

2. Then do the following. Go to:
Start / All Programs / click "Accessories" / right-click "Command Prompt" / select "run as Administrator".
A DOS-window opens in:

C:\Windows\System32>

3. Now, write the following directly after the prompt ">":
regsvr32 drmplot\comdlg32.ocx [Enter]

4. An Infobox opens:
"RegSrvr32
DllRegisterServer in DRMPlot\comdlg32.ocx succeeded [OK]"

5. Run DRM-Log Plotter.

B.3 KNOWN PROBLEMS IN WINDOWS 2000:
===================================
When you execute DRM-Log Plotter you get a runtime error 339. The message may read "COMDLG32.OCX is missing or not properly registered" or "COMDLG32.OCX is missing or not properly registered".
Reported by Mitsuru Ito with thanks and IBIS (Consultants)

A tested solution for Windows 2000 SP4 (Japanese OS):
=====================================================
The procedure is slightly different from Windows Vista:

Windows 2000 looked for the file COMDLG32.OCX. If it is missing, copy COMDLG32.OCX to the same directory as the DRM-Log Plotter (DRMPlot\COMDLG32.OCX). Now try to start the programme. If this did not solve the problem, try the following:

1. Copy COMDLG32.OCX to DRMPlot\ (if not done already).

2. Then do the following. Go to:
Start / Run".
A field "Open:" appears.

3. Now, write in the field:
C:\winnt\system32\regsvr32 drmplot\COMDLG32.OCX [Enter]

4. An Infobox opens:
"RegSrvr32
DllRegisterServer in DRMPlot\comdlg32.ocx succeeded [OK]"

5. Run DRM-Log Plotter.

B.4 KNOWN PROBLEMS IN WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64 BIT
===================================================

When you run the DRM-Log Plotter you get a runtime error 339. The message may read "COMDLG32.OCX is missing or not properly registered". Reported by IBIS (Consultants).

1. Download the mscomctl.ocx and comdlg32.ocx from a reliable source in internet and save it in the drmplot folder, then register the file as follows:

2. Click on start and in the start search bar type CMD, right click on the command prompt icon in the programs area and then click on run as administrator.

3. At the command prompt (in this case "C:\Windows\system32>") type "regsvr32 drmplot\mscomctl.ocx" (without the quotation marks) and then press enter.

4. If successful, the run window reads "C:\Windows\system32>" and a message box (RegSvr32) appears with the text "<i> DllRegisterServer in drmplot\mscomctl.ocx succeded. <OK>"

5. Run the same procedure with the comdlg32.ocx, type "regsvr32 drmplot\comdlg32.ocx" (without the quotation marks) and then press enter.

6. If successful, the run window reads "C:\Windows\system32>" and a message box (RegSvr32) appears with the text "<i> DllRegisterServer in drmplot\comdlg32.ocx succeded. <OK>"

7. Run the DRM-Plotter.

========================================

Related methods seen in the WEB 03.2015:

Vista and Win 7 do not include as standard the .OCX file. To install the OCX proceed as follows.

1) Use Google to find the OCX, eg http://www.driverskit.com
2) 32 Bit OS - Download the OCX to c:\windows\system32
3)     64 Bit OS - Download OCX to c:\windows\syswow64

4) If UAC is NOT activated on your machine Register the OCX as follows

        On the Taskbar, select Start > Run.
        In the Open field, type regsvr32 xxx.OCX
        Press Enter.
        A dialogue box showing successful registration should be displayed

5) If UAC is enabled, Register the OCX as follows

        Start All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt) as an administrator
        (right click 'Command Prompt' and choose 'Run As Administrator')
        At the command prompt type 'regsvr32 xxx.OCX'
        Press Enter
        A dialogue box showing successful registration should be displayed

B.5 KNOWN PROBLEMS IN WINDOWS 8.1
15th Dec. 2013:
- There are three problems related to when you want to make a screenshot with Windows 8.1.
- The first is that the screenshot is grabbed OK but won't be transferred to the file "temp.bmp", which results in a blank BMP picture file.
- The second is that the "freeimage.dll" cannot be called, so the PNG file will not be created.
- The third is that the PNG file name was created successfully, but there is no file, so the warning in connection with a Windows 7 problem
  causes all newer versions of the DRM-Log Plotter to crash.

Temporary workaround:

Retrieve the screenshot by openening "Paint" and then paste (CTRL+V) the screenshot to this application and save it from there.
The third problem has been solved.
The remaining problems are still under investigation due to the lack of a W8 PC. (11-2014).
